Why would want to fly with the korean airlines?? There are airlines with more complaint air fares. There are airlines with better interiors and more comfortable seats. There are airlines with more pleasant staff as well. There are airlines with more than 1200 options of in house entertainment. Then why korean air only?
Korean airlines is the airline South Korea came up with in the 1970s in order to replace the korea airlines that had begun right after the end of world war II. Then what is so special about the korean airline that should act as an incentive for the potential flyers?
The in house dining facilities! No other airline has done, or will be doing this in near future. The Korean cuisine has always been loved for its side dishes and the steam cooked food. But wait, the food is not the only thing that korean air is doing. It is creating the dining into an experience worth reliving for umpteen times.
It is actually combining korean ceramics, korean cuisines and korean airlines all into one. The new flights will all be using boutique dining ware and tableware by Kwangjuyo. The difference from other Kwangjuyo work will be in the use of Wedgwood flatware specifically. Also, the artist will be using the logo of the korean airline and imprinting it onto the table ware with the aid of conventional korean art work with a brush. The artist has been asked to employ images from the history of korea. Most of the images that are going to used to be converted as paintings include four seasons of white forsythias as well. Where the food will be offered to all of the airlines of the korean air, the table ware and the boutique dinner ware is only going to be a part of the first class and a few business class.
But this does not intimate that flying with the korean airline in economy class is going to be a waste. Not at all. Kwangjyuyo has been requested to produce table ware for the economy class as well. No particular paintng have been named for the design and a roll out pattern will be employed.
The real delightful surprise comes in the form of original authentic korean cuisine aboard the korean airline, and that too in all the classes, not just the business or the first class. The korean airlines truly believe in creating an experience worth remembering and reliving, at every opportunity.
First of all, bibimbap is a compulsory item in all the meal assembles of the korean airlines. And do not expect just boiled rice with some vegetables, no, you will have the perfectly steamed white rice, with an assortment of various steamed vegetables in herbs and spices, over the rice, presented in the Kwangjyuyo bowl. This bibimbap will be accompanied with a choice of sauces, including the popular gochujang which is the infamous korean red chilli spice paste.
The bibimbap itself is not the same on every flight, since you can have various types of bimbimbap as well. The passengers of business class and Kosmo class are offered these options and their food is taken aboard. For the economy class, usually 2-4 choices are available, depending upon what ever they choose to have. And this is just the beginning. Introduction of this meal had earned the korean airlines the prestigious Mercury Award in the late 1990s. In the past 2 years. There have been even more new additions to the cuisine offered in flight. The additions include bibim guko which is a wheat-made wet and cold, spicy korean noodles variety and is used as another option for the main meal, apart from bimbimbap. In bibim, passengers can have hand-made buckwheat noodles, cooked in meat broth and herbs; or sweet potato starch noodles, cooked with smoked chicken and rosemary. The introduction of bibim in their meal earned the korean air their second Mercury Award.
Then why one should not fly with the korean airline?
