The word waders refer to shoes that are waterproof and have an extended length then normal boots. They are used by fishermen for many different purposes. Earlier when there was no widespread technology like there is now, fishermen who wore waders would get very hot and would smell very badly due to the footwear and the warm weather. But now due to the miracles of modern technology numerous different types of waders have come into the market which can cope with different conditions. Nowadays using waders is as easy as putting on ones favorite outfit. But even though there are different kinds of fishing waders in the market, novices and beginners do not know how to make the right choice. These novices do not understand that waders are the basic components of fishing and not some precious piece of jewelery. Firstly the waders one buys should not be heavy and should be easy to handle and walk in. Furthermore another important point is the wader one buys should have breathing capacity meaning there should be some opening so that all the sweat and warmth can escape. Also if one lives or fishes in very cold climates then one should buy insulated waders, if not then do not bother buying such fishing footwear. Three different kinds of waders exist in the market and are available for purchase. All of them have their own unique attributes and qualities and all three differ from one another. First of all let’s talk about Hip waders. These are used to fish and move in specifically shallow waters. This is because these waders are easier to move in shallow waters as they are fairly easy to change into. These waders are worn from the top leg of the fishermen to the bottom foot. Secondly we have a slightly different type of foot wader. Boot foot waders are not that light and it is difficult to move in these types of waders as compared to the other ones. Also these range from the fishermen’s chest to the foot and have fixed boots with them.

This helps in reducing the cost of buying another pair of wading footwear. Last but not the least we have Stocking foot waders these are similar to Boot foot waders in the sense that both range from the fisherman’s chest to the bottom foot. But the difference is that these waders do not have boots. They have socks made from neoprene that are situated on the foot of the wader. One slight disadvantage is that one has to buy special boots for the wader separately. They are heavier and bulkier just like Boot foot waders but the advantage they have over them is that they are easy to handle and wear. Due to this many people buy these types of waders and they are very popular amongst anglers.
