Fishing is a very old sport which has many techniques. Of these various techniques, netting is one of the very famous. Fishing nets are formed by weaving or making knots with a thin material which is thread-like.This thread is usually made of either nylon or ployester.
Types Of Fishing Nets:
There are various types of fishing nets such as handnet i.e. it has a wooden handle with which the fisherman can hold it then there is a loop of net at one end. Looks somewhat like a stainer. It is suitable for fishing in streams where the fish is not very deep. The second type is round net which has stones or weights attached to all its corners, this net is thrown by the fisherman and it spreads out on water. The third type is where two people hold both sides of the net and just when a fish comes, both the people pull their end back and thus the fish is trapped. This is called coracle fishing. Another type is Shore operated nets which are immersed into water and taken out at regular intervals thus catching all the fish that comes in its way. These nets are chinese in origin and can have a horizontal length of 20 metres or more. There are some nets which are not anchored and usually catches a fish by its gills. It is used mostly on the coasts. There are special nets to catch salmon fish which are called stakenets. Such nets are more effective in rivers because they have to be anchored in the ground. Then there are special nets meant for the sea. Usually they are conical in shape and are pulled in the sea with trawlers. So catching of fish using this type of nets is called trawling.
Various Fishing Nets available online:
1. Nylon Nets
Most of the fishing nets made today are of nylon. The reason being that nylon is very durable and long living. Nylon threads do not get torn away easily. So, they are a very good material for fishing.
2. Nylon Knotless Net
These knotless nets are used as drop nets to catch various sea fish which are close to the ground. These are very fine nets and do not have any hand made knots.
3. Nylon multi nets
These nylon nets are knotted for greater strength. These nets are multi-filament and have closer and tighter knots so that the smallest of the fish also gets trapped. These are usually used as gill nets i.e. like the Chinese nets described above, these nets are used to immerse periodically in the water.
4. Nylon mono-filament fishing nets
These nets are like the multi nets described above but they are made of only one kind of filament i.e. one type of nylon thread. The spaces between knots are more. So these are usually used to catch bigger fish.
5. Braided Rope Nets
Inthis kind of nets, the knots are made in one line as to form a braide so they are called braided nets.
All the types of nets described above are available on the internet . they can be bpought from various e-malls or searched for on a search engine. Many companies also customize their nets’ specifications based on customer’s demand. So, orders can be placed on these sites and payment can be made on credit/debit cards. Thus the order will be shipped within a few days.
